Summer Reading is required for all students. The students will complete assignments based on these books during the first couple of weeks of school. For your convenience, these books are available for purchase on Payschools. You will receive these books before school ends in May. Barnes & Noble will donate 30-35% of the sales to CMM. DEADLINE TO ORDER: APRIL 12, 2023 Books must be paid for prior to the deadline for the order to be filled. If you leave the book in your cart on JCampus and pay after the deadline, the books will not be ordered. 2023-2024 Seventh Graders • All seventh graders will read Pay It Forward: Young Readers Edition and A Long Walk to Water. • Gateway students will also read a third book titled The Westing Game. • All seventh graders will also need to purchase Fever 1793, which will be read during class in August with the teacher (not over the summer.) The students will annotate in this book and will need a print copy. 2023-2024 Eighth Graders • All eighth graders will read Pay It Forward: Young Readers Edition and Circus Mirandus. • Gateway students are also required to read a third book titled Salt to the Sea. This book is optional for Enriched/Non-Gateway students as a bonus opportunity. • All eighth graders will also need to purchase Call of the Wild, which will be read during class in August with the teacher (not over the summer.)
