CMM XC won big Saturday at the Cedar Creek Invitational! 7/8th grade girls' team were meet champions, 1st place, and 6th grade girls won 1st, too, in their division as meet champs! The 7/8th grade boys won runner-up and the 6th grade boys team won runner-up, too! Way to go Stallions!! Next up is, C.E. Byrd Invitational this Saturday where CMM is the middle school host. Come out, support, and see some awesome racing!
Blue Ribbon Spirit Week will begin tomorrow (Tuesday). We will combine Monday/Tuesday. Students are asked to wear blue attire/socks/shoes. They will receive a special wristband and treat when we return to school!
Caddo Middle Magnet will be closed today due to power outages.

**UPDATE** Girls Volleyball location has been changed to CMM!!!!! We are so excited to be hosting some of the games this weekend. There is no longer an entry fee, so please come out and support the CMM Girls Volleyball teams!!! The 7th grade will play at 9:45 and 10:30. The 8th grade will play at noon and 12:45.

We are happy to announce Caddo Parish Middle Magnet School has been designated an Exemplary High Performing National Blue Ribbon School for 2023 by U. S. Secretary of Education, Miguel Cardona. Our school is one of 353 schools in the nation, one of 29 middle schools in the nation, and one of nine schools from Louisiana to be recognized in 2023. We are the only middle school in Louisiana to receive this honor for 2023.

CMM cross country had a great season opener at the Border Dash! Competing with 13 other Middle School teams in the area the 7/8th grade girls won the meet in first place as a team and were meet champions. The 7/8th grade boys came in 3rd place and both 6th grade teams had 1st place finishes! The top 10 finishers for all grades are as follows:
6th-grade boys: Wilson Rainwater, John Van Hook, David Cook III, Elk Knighton, and Parker Smith.
6th-grade girls: Makayla Nichols, Morgan McCoy, Ingrid Rudolphi, Lauren Hunter, and Sydney Tuey.

Our message this morning:
On September 11th, a great tragedy occurred in America where many people lost their lives. It was a very sad time for our country, but what we want to remember is not just the sadness, but the perseverance of the American people. We want to remember the many first responders: the firemen, police officers, emergency responders, doctors, nurses, and others who chose to help those in need. In fact, I am reminded of a famous personality from my childhood. Mister Rogers once said, “When I was a boy and would see scary things on the news, my mother would remind me to “Look for the helpers. You will always find people helping.”
So on this September 11th. I want you to remember those who dedicated themselves to helping and those in the military who keep us safe.

Attention Actors and Singers!
Let’s paint together in the Stallion art studio! There will be a Paint Party Fundraiser on Tuesday, September 26 from 5:30 - 7:30 in the CMM Art Studio. CMM students & staff as well as family members are all welcome. Each attendee will leave with your own painting on canvas created with guidance from Mrs. Sitton. You can register at Local Level Events by going to our CMM website. Snacks & water will be provided. Max is 24 participants, so register soon!
The deadline to order the required novels for the ELA classes is Tuesday, September 5, 2023. You may place an order @ https://www.payschoolscentral.com/. The CMM library receives a portion of the sales to purchase ebooks, learning materials, technology, and supplies for the students to utilize. Please choose the appropriate books for your child’s grade. Once the books have arrived at the school, the ELA teachers will distribute the books.
